Colaptes auratus

The Northern Flicker is a North American migratory woodpecker. They eat berries, fruits, and insects. Their population has been declining since the 1960's, but their conservation status is of least concern.

Wing Shape: broad, rounded

Common Grackle

Quiscalus quiscula

The Common Grackle is a type of blackbird found in the eastern and midwestern regions of the United States. They nest communally and their diet consists of insects (mainly) and fruit & seeds in the winter. The Common Grackle is still fairly common, but their conservation status is near threatened.
